For me, the greeting, "Would you like a glass of wine?" is always a winner. This is how Mark invited me into his property, and he continued to make me feel welcome throughout my stay. His property is a mid-nineteenth century schoolhouse (I think I have that right) that had once fallen into disrepair, but is now in the process of being thoughtfully restored. Mark is doing most of that work himself, and most of the work has been completed. It was interesting to talk with him and hear the history of the restoration of this place, and I could truly feel the sense of space that he is creating in having his restoration respect the design and feel of the original structure. I would be very interested in stopping back at the Inn when I return to the area to see how the restoration has progressed.

Absolutely loved this place. So much history and the area is idyllic. Mark was an excellent host and always available. The bed was comfy, the shower worked great and the honey for the tea was produced on the property - can't ask for more.

Really enjoyed my stay at the Buck School Inn - Mark was a very welcoming host - the house was even more impressive than the photos - and the holiday weekend in enchanting Chester County was a lot more satisfying thanks to lodging in part of its history. Thanks again Mark !

The school house was lovely, as was the front bedroom that we stayed in. It had amazing character and charm and we really enjoyed it. If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely stay.

Fabulous room and facilities here. Decor, atmosphere, property, linens, bath, common areas, all top notch. If Airbnb were ever to start a "super premium" category, the Buck School Inn would be a charter member. Superior quality throughout. Recommend +++

We had a great stay at this unique stone house with interesting architectural details and a stunning garden. Mark was s terrific host. He had wonderful restaurant recommendations and it was a pleasure to chat with him about the restoration he has lovingly done on the house and gardens. We felt like we were staying with an old friend!

I stayed in this B&B for 1 night but had a very good experience. The location was convenient, the facility was exactly like it was pictured, with a significant country and relaxed feel and atmosphere. The room where I stayed had a private bath - a real plus, and very nice kitchen and sitting room features as shared space. Unfortunately, our schedules did not align to meet Mark personally, but he was very reachable by phone and gaining access was smooth and easy. I would definately stay here again.

Mark was available to answer all of my questions, and the property is just as it appears. It's a clean, affordable night's stay if you're in the area. I would add that though it's a safe area, take note that the front door is kept unlocked, and there is no lock on the door in the first guest room.

It was a lovely rural setting...very quiet and comfortable. The host was very pleasant to speak with and everything I needed was there.

Warm and inviting escape from the ordinary. Mark reached out while we were in transit to let us know our room was ready for our arrival. And once there, we were delighted with our room and the charm of the renovated 'school house'. Mark welcomed us and shared the history of the property's transformation. Then we were left alone to settle in and relax before heading out to an appointment. Later that evening we returned to enjoy a peaceful night's rest and greeted the day with the sun shining in through the oversized windows. We look forward to returning to the Buck School Inn, the next time we have business in the area.

Mark was welcoming upon arrival and shared some of the history of the property over a glass of wine. He pointed out key features of the property and offered some suggestions for dining in Downingtown. Beautifully renovated school - as delightful as shown in photos. Peaceful and comfortable location. So glad we opted to stay here to enjoy a quiet, charming corner of Chester County.

The description was 100% accurate but all the same did not do justice to the charm of this one-room schoolhouse transformed into private residence. Spacious, warm and welcoming. Our room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Mark gave us a recommendation for dinner in Downington and, as promised, it was excellent.

I had a great experience at the Buck School Inn. I grew up in an older home so I really appreciated the architecture of the school house and what Mark did to renovate it. The room was very spacious and it was in a safe, quiet neighborhood. Thank you for all your help Mark!
